The end of January was a very busy time for our founders. United Women made a working trip to Pamplona, where they held important meetings both with parliamentary representatives and with the Ukrainian community.

An official meeting with the Committee on the Presidency and Equality took place at the Parliament of Navarre. It was attended by representatives from all political parties represented in the parliament. It was particularly valuable to us that the parliamentarians had familiarized themselves with United Women’s activities in advance. We spoke about the organization’s work and proposed specific areas of cooperation: ⏺️ legal employment for Ukrainian women ⏺️ recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications ⏺️ support for self-employment and micro-entrepreneurship We also discussed the idea of a pilot project and further joint steps. Our proposals sparked interest and received support from the parliamentarians.

During the trip, we held working meetings with female members of parliament and local councils. We gained a full understanding, support, and direct contacts for further cooperation, particularly with the prospect of expanding to other cities in Spain.

A lively and very meaningful meeting between United Women and Ukrainian women also took place in Pamplona.

Over 30 women, from various fields and with different backgrounds, gathered to discuss life, work, social status, education, the future beyond 2027, and the role of women’s communities in new countries.

Outcomes of this meeting: ⏹️ A United Women Pamplona–Navarra chapter was established ⏹️ Olena Sokhor was unanimously elected as the region’s ambassador ⏹️ Preparations began for the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with local institutions

This trip marked an important step in expanding United Women in Spain and served as yet another confirmation: systematic dialogue, trust, and collaboration are truly changing opportunities for Ukrainian women in Europe 🤍
