Ukrainian women’s Forum "World of Happy Childhood" was held in Bulgaria

Zlatni Piasce, Bulgaria - On 1 and 2 June, 2024, a large-scale Forum of Ukrainian Women "World of Happy Childhood" was held in Bulgaria. The event was organized by the international initiative "United Women" in honor of International Children's Day, brought together more than 300 women leaders from 15 countries, including Ukraine and European countries.

The goal of the forum was to create a safe and supportive environment for all children, regardless of their social status, ethnicity or physical abilities. Participants actively discussed the challenges and threats facing the modern world in the areas of safety, education, health and social protection of children.

The forum included three plenary discussions:

  1. "Integration of Ukrainian mothers in different countries of the world: challenges, experiences and support", the discussion included the topics of integration, cultural adaptation and interaction with governmental and non-governmental organizations.

  2. "Children are our special treasure" - focus on social adaptation and identity support for Ukrainian emigrant children, as well as access to education and health.

  3. "Building the Future: The Importance of Family Values for Children" - highlighting the influence of family values on the formation of a child's personality.

In addition to the plenary discussions, representatives of the United Women initiative conducted a humanitarian mission, during which more than 500 Ukrainian children received gifts.

The event was supported by representatives of Ukrainian and Bulgarian businesses, government agencies and public organizations. The forum participants unanimously supported and signed the United Women Declaration, calling for international cooperation to improve the lives of children around the world.

Anastasia Petrenko, the founder of the United Women initiative and winner of the Volunteer of the Year 2014-2022 nomination, addressed the Forum participants: "Every child deserves happiness and safety. Our Forum is aimed at creating conditions for joining forces for the benefit of a better future for our children."

"A World of Happy Childhood" was a meaningful step towards creating a sustainable and just future for all children, emphasizing the importance of international dialogue and cooperation in addressing global challenges.
