The international initiative "United Women" brings Ukrainian women leaders together from all over the world

Varna, April 1 - the first meeting of women leaders of the United Women initiative took place in Bulgaria. More than 70 Ukrainian women leaders representing different non-governmental organizations in Bulgaria gathered to join and support the global United Women platform.

The meeting was supported by public figures and representatives of charitable organizations with importance and relevance of this initiative. The United Women platform aims to unite women leaders to achieve peace, security and social justice. Regarding to UN statistics there are more than 6 million people (mostly women and children) have left Ukraine in the last two years. United Women have raising concerns and strives to create conditions for women who remain abroad to realize their potential and lead active lives. During the meeting, the Declaration and the working concept of the United Women platform were ratified. The participants expressed their intention to join efforts in advocating for peace, protecting the rights of women and children, and combating violence against them.

Anastasia Petrenko is a founder of the international platform "United Women", winner of the nomination "Volunteer of the Year from 2014 to 2022" and founder of the women's club "SCL". And Alena Mykolayenko is a Chairman of the All-Ukrainian public organization "Council of Large Families of Ukraine". They are together made an appeal to the women of Ukraine and the whole world to join the initiative of the United Women platform and jointly achieve the goals of peace, security and social justice.

The international initiative of the United Women platform brings opportunities for new horizons and a new direction of global women's leadership. The idea, goals and mission underlying United Women resonates in the hearts of Ukrainian women, each participant of the meeting expressed its desire to join the platform.

The next meetings of women leaders of the United Women platform will take place in April in Poland, Romania, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Spain.

On March 4 in Bratislava, more than 100 Ukrainian women leaders representing different public organizations in 15 countries, including European countries and Ukraine decided to create a single international platform United Women in 2024 with headquarters in Switzerland and representative offices in 14 countries.
