Varna, Bulgaria: United Women Fundraiser — School Kits for Ukrainian Children
In Varna’s Sea Garden, we hosted a fundraising action to support Ukrainian refugee children. Ahead of the new school year, kids received stationery sets and essential school supplies to help them start classes with confidence.
Impact
- 180+ pupils in grades 2–4 received assistance.
- Additional sets were delivered to temporary housing locations for Ukrainian families in Bulgaria.
- Kits included notebooks, pens, pencils, art pads, pencil cases, and core classroom materials.

Why it matters
Similar United Women humanitarian initiatives have taken place across Europe. The goal is simple: ensure Ukrainian children abroad receive timely support at key moments of life — the start of the school year, adapting to new schools, and integrating into local communities. Mission coordination is led by co-founder Anastasiia Petrenko.
